About Us
Koinonia @ Davis is a UC Davis registered student organization that fosters a warm, friendly environment where any student with questions about Christianity can find answers, and those who are already Christians can grow deeper in their faith. In case you're wondering, 'koinonia' is 'fellowship' in Greek!
We began on the UC Davis campus back in 1997 with a handful of members. We were originally known as ABSK (Asian Baptist Student Koinonia), but we recently changed our name to Koinonia to reflect a desire to welcome a wider audience to our group. On average, we have 120 students in attendance at our weekly Bible studies. Sometimes, we gather according to three smaller-sized K-groups (Koinonia groups) for a more personal fellowship. (We also have a separate Graduate Division serving graduate students, post-docs, and visiting scholars [visit KDGrad.org].) Our Invited Speakers deliver Bible studies and provide spiritual guidance as needed. We also have some alumni associate members who help out with various tasks from time to time. Many of the friendships that are made through Koinonia last well beyond the college years. We invite you to come and join us at one of our upcoming events! |
